A Bio Sketch

Betty J. Halliburton is an Emmy award-winning journalist, independent film producer, and multimedia architect with a professional career spanning more than 38 years. She is currently working on numerous video projects and serving as a multimedia consultant and strategist for various organizations. Halliburton is also a contributing producer for Ideastream Public Media, Northeast Ohio’s regional PBS outlet. 

 In 2023, Halliburton’s docuseries, Black Women: Our Hope, Health, and Healing, received the Audience Choice Award (Shorts) at the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival (GCUFF) and was broadcast on WVIZ TV 25 (PBS).

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Ohio University.

Halliburton served as the CEO Communications Director for the MetroHealth System, where she directed, wrote, and managed CEO communications, including speeches, presentations/panels, media opportunities, employee messaging, correspondence, and video scripts.

Served as a senior adviser and thought leader to the CEO and System Communications team. Worked to develop and execute national and local media strategies and branding of external communications for the CEO.

Additionally, Halliburton served as the Communications Director for two school districts: the Elyria City Schools and the Lorain County Joint Vocational School and its Career Center.

She brings more than two decades of proven leadership at the intersection of strategic storytelling, communications management, and mission-driven brand engagement. “From the newsroom to the boardroom, I’ve built a career around transforming complex issues into compelling narratives that inspire action, trust, and measurable outcomes.”

Throughout her career, she has developed communication strategies for five affiliate CEO’s of the National Urban League, overseeing marketing and outreach for many educational, career development, and reading programs.

Established in 2020, Halliburton is the CEO of Intentional Content, Inc., a multimedia firm offering a comprehensive range of services that specialize in communication management and the creation of content purposefully designed for and about people of color.

She is a mother of two adult children and a grandmother to two boys. Halliburton is a woman of faith and an ordained messenger of Christ who believes that when you put God first, everything else will fall in place for your good!
